THE CHALLENGE
Maltesers, in collaboration with Comic Relief, is striving for a future free from injustice against women in the work place. With 79% of mothers feeling guilty about not spending enough time with their children, while 57% also feel guilty about not working enough, many find themselves in a no-win situation. Maltesers wanted to encourage working mums to lift the lid on the reality of their lives, in relatable and uplifting content that could support the cause.

THE STRATEGY
We challenged Natalie Cassidy and other working mums to rewrite their out of office messages to reflect what they would really tell their colleagues… warts (headlice) ‘n’ all! From tears and tantrums in the morning to dinner, bath and bedtime, with homework and other child-related admin thrown into the mix, Natalie and our mumfluencers lifted the curtain on the reality of a working mum’s life, in a funny, but very authentic and relatable way.

THE CREATIVE
In a series of filmed OOO messages, our mums told their colleagues and viewers exactly why they were off grid temporarily. The whole truth – including tears, mishaps, and some well-hidden car keys! The juggle is real, and this light but heartfelt film shows each mum in their respective scenario, trying to balance work and motherhood. Get ready for a mix of laughter and tears!
